Top 15 Girls Lacrosse Players of 2025: The Citizen All-Stars

As the dust settles on the spring sports season, it’s time to spotlight the standout athletes who have left an indelible mark on the field. The Citizen is proud to present its top 15 girls lacrosse players of 2025, showcasing the extraordinary talent and dedication of these young athletes.

Grace Marquardt: A Rising Star from Skaneateles

Grace Marquardt of Skaneateles has emerged as a formidable force in girls lacrosse. The freshman sensation scored a remarkable 61 goals this season, leading the Lakers with her dynamic play. Marquardt’s ability to consistently find the back of the net was evident as she scored in every game of the 2025 season. Her career-high of seven goals came twice, against Shaker on April 12 and Cazenovia on May 19.

Beyond her scoring prowess, Marquardt was also the team’s top distributor, recording 43 assists and achieving at least one assist in 14 of 18 games. Her all-around performance was further highlighted by her 227 draw controls, underscoring her dominance on the field.

Kelsey Brunelle: Leading the Charge for Jordan-Elbridge

Jordan-Elbridge’s Kelsey Brunelle continued to impress, leading the Eagles in scoring for a third consecutive season. The sophomore surpassed 150 career goals, netting 69 this year as the Eagles finished with a 9-8 record. Brunelle’s standout performance included a career-high eight goals in a decisive 15-5 victory over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on April 15.

Brunelle also showcased her playmaking abilities, leading her team with 39 assists, a significant increase from the 31 she amassed over her first two seasons.

Parker Maneri and Auburn’s Strong Season

Parker Maneri played a pivotal role in Auburn’s successful run to the Section III, Class B championship. The attacker led the Maroons with 30 assists and was second on the team with 38 goals. Maneri set the tone early, scoring a career-high six goals in a season-opening 14-3 victory over Whitesboro.

Her ability to distribute was on full display during the Section III, Class B semifinals, where she recorded a career-high six assists in a 19-7 win over Oswego.

Paige Willard’s Consistent Excellence

Skaneateles’ Paige Willard concluded her high school career with another stellar season, scoring at least 30 goals and providing 30 assists for the third straight year. Her 51 goals were a personal best, and she finished second on the team with 31 assists. Willard’s career-high of five goals came against Christian Brothers Academy on April 10, while her seven assists against Cazenovia on May 19 highlighted her dual-threat capabilities.

Adalyn Bouley and Auburn’s Offensive Power

Auburn’s Adalyn Bouley was a key contributor to the team’s offensive success, scoring nearly 25% of the Maroons’ 199 goals in 2025. The midfielder led the team with 48 goals, consistently delivering with at least three goals in nine of 18 games. Bouley joined the 100-goal club with a four-goal performance against Oswego in the Section III, Class B semifinals.

Emerging Talents and Established Performers

Jordan-Elbridge’s Briella Gilfus stepped up her game, finishing second on the Eagles with 44 goals. Her career-best performance came with five goals and four assists in a 16-8 win over Cortland on May 5. Over three seasons, Gilfus has accumulated 69 goals and 23 assists.

Meanwhile, Skaneateles’ Mara Stanton scored 54 goals, second most for the Lakers, as they advanced to the Section III, Class D championship game. Stanton’s consistency was evident as she scored in each of the Lakers’ last 16 games, concluding her varsity career with 104 goals and 39 assists.

Freshman Kate Musso made an immediate impact for Auburn, finishing second in assists with 22 and fourth in goals with 23. Her early season performance included a career-high four assists against Central Square in a 9-7 victory.

Defensive Stalwarts and Future Prospects

Jordan-Elbridge’s Evelyn Bennett and Skaneateles’ Brooke Coffey were defensive anchors for their teams. Bennett’s scoring ability was highlighted by a goal against Skaneateles on May 7, while Coffey’s 96 saves contributed to the Lakers’ league-best defense, allowing just 6.3 goals per game.

Coffey’s performance in goal, boasting a 45% save percentage over two varsity seasons, has been instrumental in Skaneateles’ defensive success.

As these athletes continue to develop their skills, the future of girls lacrosse in the region looks bright. The Citizen All-Stars of 2025 have set a high bar for excellence, inspiring the next generation of players to reach new heights.
